History

A long entrepreneurial history that began in 1979

We’ve always been guided by our passion for innovation and by the search for new modern furnishing solutions. With the aim of creating a cutting-edge company, we’ve opened up to different targets over time, starting from interior designers and contractors, and ending with architects and designers.

Today, we can count on a national business development, thanks to a structured logistics, strengthened by branches and showrooms all over the Country. After many years of experience, we continue to believe that innovation is the key to reach excellent results. This is why we always invest in big projects, with the aim of meeting our customers’ need in an increasingly effective way.

1979

Loris Mattei founded Legnopan spa, whose reference market was the furniture and interior design sector.

Primi anni ’80
We start importing the “MEDIUM DENSITY FIBREBOARD”, better known as “MDF”, and we were the first to distribute it in Italy.
Seconda metà anni ’80

Waterproof and fireproof panels are inclued in our sales range.

1990
We introduce the ennobled panel into the product collection.
Primi anni ’90
Aiming to cover the whole territory of Veneto, we structure a sales network with a scheduled and multi-provincial delivery service.
2000

After purchasing a new piece of land in Chiuppano to build suitable headquarters for the new 10-year development project, we move to the new site, with a 4000 sqm building and 200 sqm of offfice space. The new site drives our growth.

With the arrival of Enrico and Alessandro Mattei, the company experiences a new multi-regional business development.
2001
We receive ISO 9001 certification.
2004
We give birth to the WID division, a business unit designed to open us up to collaboration with architects and designers.
2010
We move to new headquarters in Piovene Rocchette: an office surrounded by greenery 5 times the size of the previous one, with the goal of expanding along the entire Italian territory.
2011

We are awarded the CoC (Chain of Custody) certification by two certification bodies, FSC and PEFC.

2020
We increase our market share in horeca, contract and furniture sector, becoming one of the leading Italian companies in the wood panel distribution field.
2021
After two years from its beginning, the new automatic system – a freestanding automated warehouse with picking and packing system – is finally ready.
